Costa Rica Travel San Jose to Manuel Antonio?
I've been reading through all the answers, but have decided to ask me some questions. My boyfriend and I are travel to costa rica for our honeymoon in October. My questions are about transportation. I should ideally be taken from the airport in San Jose and be left at our Manual Antonio hotel. To do this, you have to catch a private bus or a taxi or rent a car? I heard that you should not rent a car, but was not sure about a taxi if it is safe? or public bus? I'm just worried about the safety and convenience that money is not a problem. Thank you! Also, travel by air is not an option for us because I know it would be far above my limit travel of 25 pounds.
Never rent a car when I go to the CR. The driving is very different than in the states, and makes me very nervous. You can take a taxi from the airport if desired. The laws have gotten very strict about Gypsies booths and all airport taxis are licensed and regulated. My favorite is for private transport. They meet outside the airport with your name on a sign, load their luggage and take you to your hotel. On the way to Manuel Antonio, make a pit stop about halfway to the toilet, refreshments and take a peak above the bridge to see the crocodiles.
