Coffee beans can be part of every household staples. Imagine a home without a coffee in your kitchen? Although not all homes are not the same brand of coffee, is no doubt that everyone loves to have a sip of a cup of either developed or decaffeinated versions. Well, if you are one in the league of these people, you may interested to know more about the coffee beans.

For starters, the coffee beans are the seeds found inside the coffee plant. It is the core of coffee cherries, fruit color, red or purple. Typically, a cherry contains two coffee beans inside. But there are cases where the cherry has a single grain. This is called as a grain of pea.

Popularity of coffee beans

The popularity of coffee is seen not only in homes. Also is popular in offices. In fact, business establishments around the world have popularized a term called "coffee-break" in recognition of this crop. With its popularity, the coffee beans are considered major crops worldwide.

There are a lot of major exporters of coffee in worldwide. Among the list of coffee producing countries, Colombia is in the first place. It is followed by other countries like Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ethiopia and Indonesia. The United States is also included in the list.

Different types of coffee beans

Originally from Ethiopia in 850 AD, coffee started to spread worldwide. The first influence extended Arabia in 900 AD. After that, the Dutch began smuggling coffee plants monitoring Saudi and brought home to Holland.

Although there are many species of coffee plants, only two popular types of coffee beans that can occur outside of them. One is the Coffee Arabica or more clearly known as arabica. The Arabica species or varieties are favored worldwide because of the high quality cafes that may occur. The second type known as Robusta coffee Canephora or are said to favor the economies of many because of its effect.

In the most cases, however, the grain type of the coffee plant is identified not by its taste. Better identify their geographical location. Based on however current statistics, 90% of total coffee sales belong to the varieties arabica and robusta.

The processing of grains coffee

A coffee bean contains substances such as caffeine, caffeic acid and cafestol. These beans undergo various processes such as coffee tan corretto, where roast and decaffeinated. Different coffee preparations can be made out of the techniques of brewing drip presses France, espresso machines, coffee makers. These preparations are responsible for the creation of espresso drinks as Affogato, Frappuccino, cafe mocha, coffee espresso and cappuccino coffee.
